John Caperton is believed to have arrived in the American Colonies between 1725 and 1750's. While currently I have not been able to locate definitive proof that John Caperton or any of his children participated directly in the American Revolution, it is clear by their participation in the War of 1812; Civil war and numerous Indian conflicts, that Caperton Patriotism was high. They were however is several militias during this time period and this avenue should be further explored (interested? email me). At least two of John's daughters however did marry Revolutionary war soliders. Elizabeth Caperton (B-6) is known to have married Joshua Townsend; and Nancy Caperton (B-5) is known to have married James Kelly.
If you have any Revolutionary War information of for or about Caperton's that is not on this list, please email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
