Capertons in WWI Canadian Expeditionary ForceAccording to Research in the National Archives of Canada, there was only one Caperton who served in the Canadian Expeditionary Force (C.E.F.) during World War One. His name was William Caperton, born Muskogee Oklahoma on 9 September 1875. He gave his mothers name as Frances Caperton (widow) and he was living at 1216 Freemont St., Muskogee Oklahoma at the time of his enlistment. He gave his occupation as Tailor. the following statistics were recorded at the time of enlistment: William was 5' 10", 158 pounds, Dark complexion, brown eyes and black hair. I have obtained the Service Record of William from the Canadian National Archives but there was not much in the file. The attestation paper, a Medical History (nothing out of the ordinary), a casualty form and several pay sheets. The summary below is based on these:
