Hugh Caperton is identified as B-1 in Bernard Caperton's book The Caperton Family, is belived to be the oldest son of John and Polly Caperton. Probably born in 1751, he is referred to as Captain "New River" Hugh by those who knew him and his descendants. Hugh was known to have served in the Revolutionary War and did not particularly see eye to eye with another famous name of the time - Daniel Boone. Hugh was also a Justice of the Peace in Greenbirar Co., Virginia in 1786-87. The photos below are of his descendants.
