Corrections to "The Caperton Family"

While Bernard Caperton's work "The Caperton Family" remains the definitive work on the Caperton's, It was written just before the internet came of age, and is now 30 years old. With todays ability to communicate almost instantly via email, Our Caperton cousins are closer than ever. Omissions to the book are added via the online histories. Occasionally though, I receive communications from cousins of errors they have found in the book. Since I am not able to track down and verify each of these claims. I place them here for everyone to view and come to their own conclusions.

I recently received an email from a cousin that has been researching one of John Caperton's daughters, Nancy. She has been able to show that the chapter on Nancy Kelly Caperton (B-5) in Bernard's book "The Caperton Family" has followed the wrong Kelly line.
What follows below is her summary of what she believes to be the correct Nancy Caperton Kelly family history, as well as some source information. It is my hope that I will be able to provide additional information as well as images of key documents in the near future to support the argument that this is the correct Kelly line.

I am working to convert the information below into an online history so that it can be added to the "Online Histories" section, but I felt this information was too important to hold back until the conversion is complete. I would also like to say a special thank you to Gay Nix for helping me add this valuable information to Caperton.info!

In looking over some of the information on your website regarding the Caperton Family history I came across what I believe to be an omission regarding A.H. Caperton's wives and children [#199; D-723]. I take it that this is not unusual in and of itself but I see no reference to Jennie Licity Caperton nor any listing for her mother Nancy who, my records indicate, was married to Alfred H. Caperton.

Is there someway I can follow through on this, checking the accuracy of my own information and at the same time perhaps correcting and updating what you have?

To elaborate a bit more

Jennie Licity Caperton [b 10 Apr. 1860 Hayes Co. Texas; d 1 Dec 1951] married William Levi McAulay [ my great grandfather] in 1879. They had 14 children. My information indicates that she is the daughter of Nancy Licity and Alfred H Caperton. However there are conflicting reports on Ancestry.com and tbe Gedcom files that I have downloaded. I suspect that Alfred was married to three different women. His first wife (?) Lucy Goodloe gets left out of some accounts and (his second wife?) Nancy Licity gets left out of others [including the one you cite] and which children belong to which wife is obscured in the process.

I was looking at your info. I haven't done any genealogy in awhile, so I don't know if we've ever communicated. My great grandmother is Mary Ellen Caperton married to Thomas Brown Craighead. Your notes say she had 12 children. Actually she had 15, my grandfather, Henry Bascomb Craighead, being the 15th. My father is Porter Caperton Craighead.
