The Caperton Project is simply the carrying on of Bernard Caperton's work. To correct, update and expand Bernard Caperton's The Caperton Family Which is without doubt, The Genealogical study of the Caperton Surname
I have received permission from Mary Caperton to convert Bernard's book into a database for distribution to others interested in his work. My hope is that others will be able to use this posted data to find where their family links into Bernard's book. Those individuals would then be invited to submit their data for inclusion into a "Master" database.
Even in his his book, Bernard had a section for Caperton's he could not link to the family tree. If you would like your information added to this section, feel free to send it to me. You can also look here to see if you know anyone!
While Bernard Caperton's work "The Caperton Family" remains the definitive work on the Caperton's, It was written just before the internet came of age, and is now 30 years old. With todays ability to communicate almost instantly via email, Our Caperton cousins are closer than ever. Omissions to the book are added via the online histories. Occasionally though, I receive communications from cousins of errors they have found in the book. Since I am not able to track down and verify each of these claims. I place them here for everyone to view and come to their own conclusions.
This is the actual re-write and update of The Caperton Family, which is a special subscription project. If you are interested in joing this project please email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
