Terms & Ordering Information
How the CDBooks are made
Each page of the book is carefully scanned at high resolution and saved
as a separate file. The files are then combined into one "document" and
saved onto a CD-ROM. This document can be opened and viewed on either
a Macintosh or a PC computer using free viewing software from Adobe
called Acrobat Reader. Additionally, an electronic "Table of
Contents" or bookmark as Adobe calls it is built into the document
to allow the reader to jump from chapter to chapter as well as to
the Appendicies and index. Click here for a sample page from the
book. And if you can see the sample, it means you already have Adobe
Acrobat Reader installed on your computer! If not, see Adobe Section
below
Pricing
Since this is not a commercial endeavour, the goal of this project
was not to make money, rather to simply recover production, sales,
bank fees, packaging and shipping costs. As such the cost of the
CD's is based on production not labor. So while it would seem at
first glance The Caperton Famliy with nearly 300 pages, and an electronic
table of contents should be more expensive than the Memorial Addresses
of Senator Allen T. Caperton with only 62 pages, they actually cost
the same to produce
Tax
If you are a California resident Sales tax will be added to your total
at checkout time.
Paypal and White Rose
To keep costs down caperton.info is using paypal to handle the payment
process. This will allow the use of visa and mastercard as well as
checking accounts. To make your purchase simply click on the buy
link below to start the process. During the Checkout process you
will notice that you are paying White Rose Web Design rather than
Caperton.info. White Rose is the Web Designer and Host for the Caperton.info
site. White Rose is currently hosting us at no cost, and allowing
us to use their PayPal account to sell the CD Books. All of this
allows me to keep caperton.info online! So if you decide to purchase
a CD Book there is no need to panic when it looks like you are paying
White Rose rather than Caperton.info. The payment is going to the
right place and you WILL get your order!
