Bible Page Project
Bible pages which contain a
Births, Marriages and Deaths Page are a very underrated resource. These
pages contain entries that were typically filled out at the time of
the event by a member of the family, and so, were fairly accurate as
to date. I am assembling Caperton related scanned images of pages supplied
to me and from my own library. If you would like to add a scanned image

H.M. Caperton
These pages come from the family bible found when Harvey
Monroe Caperton passed away. Harvey was the Great-Grandson of William
S. Caperton (D-854). Unfortunately there was no Marriage page found.
As the pages were found loose, I have no information on what type of
bible they were from.

top Hugh Caperton (C-24)
These pages come from
the Bible of Hugh Caperton and Jane Erskine Caperton. There are also
four pages included here, of information on the Caperton slaves found
in the Bible of Allen T. Caperton. These slaves probably lived at
Elmwood, in Union West Virginia, and owned first by Hugh Caperton
and later by Allen T. Caperton.
Other family names included in the
Bible pages are Alexander, Beirne, Echols, Erskine, Preston,
and Steenbergen.
Warning: Some of the file sizes are rather large! I have reduced the
files in size as far as I could without too much loss of quality.

Thomas Ferguson
These pages come from the Bible
of Thomas Ferguson, father of Sarah H. Ferguson. Sarah was the wife
of William S. Caperton (D-854). This Bible provides a wealth of information
on the Ferguson family which prior to this bible was largely unknown
to Caperton family members. Special thanks to Mary for contributing

This is called the Caperton Perkins
Bible by the owner. Some of the writing is very difficult to read.
We are fortunate however that Marcia Behnke has graciously transcribed
